Julie Wainwright is a past alumni from the 2011 FashInvest Capital Conference. Her company, the RealReal has recently raised $14 Million in a series B round led by InterWest Partners. The company has grown revenue tenfold in the last year by offering a superior experience for both customers and consignors. With over 750,000 members, The RealReal receives over 1.5 million visits per month.

Julie has a career in technology and brand management that spans over 25 years. A CEO for over 10 years, she helped pioneer e-commerce as the CEO of Reel.com in 1997 and Pets.com in 1999. She has been recognized as one of the top female entrepreneurs by The San Francisco Business Times. She is also a frequent speaker and has spoken at many prestigious events and universities including Harvard University, Purdue University and CES. She graduated from Purdue University Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in General Management with a minor in Art. She is a former board member of Baker and Taylor, Wizards of the Coast, The San Francisco Art Institute, Magic Theatre and Headlands Center for the Arts. Raised by artists, she developed an early love of fashion and design. She loves clothing with clean lines and she is passionate about high, high heels. Lanvin, Balenciaga, Chloe and Louboutin are some of her favorite designers.
