B Capital Group, a Los Angeles, Calif. venture capital firm, just closed its fund, at over $143 million, according to a Form D filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The filing shows that 18 investors participated in the offering of B Capital Fund, L.P. The document does not list any person related to the investment, FinSMEs reports.
B Capital Group is headed up by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, partner and co-founder Raj Ganguly, and principals Mike Fernandez, David Ng and Bryan Ciambella and has outposts in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Singapore.
The fund partners with Boston Consulting Group and its incubation arm, BCG Digital Ventures, to invest in startups in the consumer and e-commerce space with a global focus.
So far the fund has invested in Ninja Van, a Southeast Asia based last-mile logistics company for e-commerce delivery and return.
On his own, Saverin is known for investing in fashion and e-commerce startups like Orami, Hopscotch and ShopSavvy, so we’ll be watching out for some startups in the fashion tech space to appear soon in the new fund’s portfolio.
And the fund is #womenintech friendly as well. Out of its 13-person staff, there are five women.
