Berrybenka raises venture round to expand offline-to-online presence

Berrybenka, an online fashion e-commerce site based in India, has raised an undisclosed amount in its latest round of venture funding.

The investment was led by Softbank-Indosat Fund, Asia Summit Capital and Maj Invest Equity. Local unnamed investors also participated in the funding.  

Claudia WidjajaYenti Elizabeth and Jason Lamuda co-founded Berrybenka in 2011 as a site featuring a curated selction of several brands ranging from local and international brands to help shoppers buy from one place.

According Berrybenka, the company has sold more than 1,000 local and international brands, including products for its in-house label across clothing, footwear and accessories categories for women and children.

The new funding will be used to increase the company’s offline-to-online presence. The company hopes to launch 10 to 15 pop-up stores in populous Indonesia cities, in addition to establishing six to 10 permanent stores, according to a report by Deal Street Asia report.
