Zanzan, a London-based luxury eyewear brand has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding.
The investment came from Eiesha Bharti Pasricha, a prominent UK-based angel investor who has also invested in Jonathan Saunders’ and Roksanda Ilincic’s brands. The brand also counts fashion influencer and entrepreneur, Laura Bailey as an investor. She acts as Zanzan’s creative ambassador and assists in designing frames for the sunglasses.
“I’ve been looking to invest outside ready-to-wear for quite a while,” Bharti Parsicha said in a BOF report. “I wanted something that was quite small that I could wrap my arms around and sort of nurture the business the way I did with Roksanda.”
In 2010, Megan Trimble and Gareth Townshend founded Zanzan, which means ‘the thrill of the new’ in Maltese.
All the sunglasses are designed in London and handmade in the Prosecco Hills of Northern Italy, which is considered the “heartland” of Italy’s eyewear industry, where the artisans fuse innovative production methods with old world craftsmanship.
The new investment will be used to expand the eyewear line with men’s sunglasses and optical frames.
