Shoppable raises $3.5 million for universal checkout technology

Shoppable, a New York-based universal checkout technology, has raised $3.5 million in Series A funding. The company has raised $5 million to date. An unnamed investor led the investment, with participation from MI Ventures, Canary Ventures, On Grid Ventures, Thomas Varghese, Bodley Group, John D. Owen, Noopur Shukla, Andrew Boszhardt Jr., Sandeep Bhanote and a number of undisclosed individual investors. …

The New York Fashion Tech Lab’s Demo Day was awesome

Richline Group acquires Viawear to bolster wearables offering

Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, Richline Group, has just acquired Viawear, a San Francisco-based wearable technology startup. Richline is the multinational conglomerate’s fine jewelry manufacturer.
