Designer Diane Gilman Receives the FashInvest Designer Award at Our 3rd Annual Capital Conference

Diane Gilman, also known as the “Jean Queen” was given the FashInvest Designer Award. The award was presented to Diane by Linsey Bozzelli, partner at Blank Rome, LLP.

Linsey Bozzelli concentrates her practice in the area of business and corporate law, including: mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, private equity and venture capital funding transactions, general corporate, partnership, and limited liability company transactions and counseling, joint ventures and strategic alliances, financing transactions, business formation and planning contract drafting and negotiations, securities matters (including public and private equity and debt offerings) and counseling and formation of nonprofit organizations.

Diane Gilman, founder of the Diane Gilman collection, provides the perfect jeans for a market that seems to be untapped, the baby boomers. She has been in the fashion industry for over 38 years selling over 5 million pairs of jean and leggings and creating a $150 million empire through the Home Shopping Network (HSN). Diane states, “For my target market, buying the perfect pair of jeans is an emotional purchase.”

After receiving the Designer Award, both Linsey and Diane sat down for a fireside chat on “Building Your Brand Up Through Tele-Retailing”. The audience was stimulated by both questions and answers, not to mention Diane’s charismatic personality!!

The participating companies and attendees were so moved by this chat, that there was a line to meet Diane at the end! Some of the words that were used to describe the chat were: “dynamic, inspiring and motivation.”

Diane is just about to celebrate her 19th Anniversary on The Home Shopping Network USA and she is the longest running fashion personality at the network and is currently the number one (#1) fashion vendor, the #2 vendor amongst all categories selling well over 1 million jeans a year in the USA alone. She also shares the same number one status at The Shopping Channel in Canada, and QVC UK. She will begin QVC Milan in April 2013 followed by QVC France (Paris) and QVC Spain (Madrid).

Diane has also finished her 1st book “Good Jeans” which will debut March 2013 on HSN USA with a 2 hour special followed later in the year with the European debut on QVC UK.

Through her success and fireside chat, Diane Gilman definitely encouraged many that it’s NEVER too late and to keep working at whatever you’re passionate about.
