Ask the Experts and Find What You’re Looking For with the PS Dept. App

In our App of the Week series, we take a look at the newest and coolest apps to see if they’re worth a try.

The days of hunting through the mall and the Internet for what you need are long over. With the PS Dept. app, a product is as easy as sending a text message. Get in contact with an expert and they will do all the work for you.

All you need to do is finish the sentence “I’m looking for…” with whatever it is you need. It can be as general as “a sexy red dress” to as specific as “a black d’Orsay pump that goes day to night.” Experts find items that match your search and send you multiple photos. You are able to shop the photos and buy what’s in store straight from the app.

There is free shipping, free returns and full refunds on all items. Items come from stores including 3.1 Phillip Lim, Barneys New York, Cynthia Rowley, DVF, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney and Theory.

On the “My Bags” feature, you can add items you want to buy from an expert. The “Orders” feature lets you view your order history and make returns. You can add a card to make purchases with the “Payment” feature. Refer a friend to the app through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, text message or e-mail.

If you need something very specific, like a dress in a certain color or style, an expert can find it much quicker than you ever could. The only drawback of this app is that all of the stores are luxury brands. As a college student, I would love to see stores on the app that are more in my price range.
