On-demand beauty service app GLAMSQUAD has announced the appointment of Alexandra Wilkis Wilson as president and chief executive officer of the company, according to a statement released by company officials. Wilson is the co-founder and strategic advisor of Gilt and will leave Gilt to take on her new role at GLAMSQUAD.

In July we introduced you to the service that delivers high-quality, affordable, at-home beauty services with experienced stylists.

Wilson brings with her 15 years of international experience in luxury goods, retail and finance, with former positions in Bulgari, Louis Vuitton and Merrill Lynch before her most recent roles at Gilt. There, Wilson served varyingly as chief merchandising officer, head of national sales for Gilt City, head of brand relations and, most recently, head of strategic alliances. She will continue as strategic advisor at Gilt.

With Wilson’s arrival, cofounder Victoria Eisner will become GLAMSQUAD executive vice president and chief creative officer.

“Alexandra is the perfect addition to the GLAMSQUAD team and the fact that she has chosen to work with us on her next entrepreneurial venture is a testament to our early traction and execution,” Eisner said. “She deeply understands our mission to make getting ready a whole lot easier and represents and understands our core customer. Beyond that she is a born leader, a founder, an entrepreneur and an inspiration to businesswomen everywhere.”

Wilson and Eisner will begin their new roles on Sept. 1.
