Hudson’s Bay Company Gets Digital Makeover

Hudson’s Bay Company was founded in 1670, which makes it the longest operating company in North America. It now provides its customers with a large range of retail shopping categories as well as international shopping in order to reach to all viewers. The company operates several of Canada’s largest stores, like Canada’s largest department store, Hudson’s Bay and their largest home specialty store, Home Outfitters.

HBC has recently announced the new development of a group, HBC Digital, which will be responsible for digital commerce. The newly appointed president of the group, Michael Burgess, will manage HBC Digital. Several partnership companies of HBC, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor, will execute HBC Digital’s new digital commerce and marketing strategies. This way customers may begin to have better digital experiences.

Burgess said that the digital space “is transforming the shopping experience online and in store” and he is excited to be at the forefront of working with the team at HBC to drive the company’s growth.Young-man-with-yellow-glasses--31907912

“As our customers’ expectations continue to evolve and the lines between digital marketing and commerce continue to blur, we feel this group not only creates near-term benefits, but also will enable HBC to become more nimble in the digital marketplace,” he said.

Not only will HBC Digital be focusing on digital commerce, but executives at the company will also be making new digital marketing changes and efforts throughout the entirety of the enterprise.
