I AM NOT A VIRGIN From NYC

Denim Made From Recycled Waste

I AM NOT A VIRGIN (IANAV) is a denim company in NYC that manufactures denim and t-shirts out of cotton and recycled materials.  The recycled materials include plastic bottles, x-ray film, and food trays.  The founder, Peter Hereon, launched the company in 2011.  He was inspired by the time he made a pair of jeans out of collected fabric scraps from Chinese mills in order to reduce waste.  Since then, he has manufactured a fabric blend of 75% cotton and 25% recycled synthetics and applied it to his denim and t-shirts.

IANAV’S business model is based on 7 for All Mankind. 7 for All Mankind is a premium denim line known for their revolutionary use of fabric, fit, and treatment process of denim.  They have attracted an instant celebrity cult following. In order to emulate their success, I AM NOT A VIRGIN will also be focusing on celebrities and has already booked Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and supermodel Helena Christensen to endorse the label.  The company is also scheduled to talk with Shawn Sachs, who is a publicist and friend of IANAV’s founder.  Shawn happens to work for many A-list stars like Leonardo Di Caprio.  Sony Music’s New York office will also advertise the denim line to artists such as Shakira as well.

Currently, IANAV has 400 pairs of jeans made from recycled beer bottles available for sale.  The jeans were stitched inside out to emphasize the texture of recycled synthetics and natural cotton.  They are very comfortable due to the fact that they have not been dyed.  The women’s denim line is also woven with 1% elasticity for a more flattering fit.
