TLDR: Huge retail tech conference at the Aria in Las Vegas from May 15 to 18, crazy good speakers, read on for a coupon code if you’d like to attend.
Last December Shoptalk, a buzzy, new retail tech conference, announced it had raised $2.5 million to launch an upcoming massive retail gathering this May 15 to 18 in Las Vegas.
For three days The Aria Las Vegas will be home to over 100 sessions exploring disruptive retail topics including in-store mobile engagement, virtual and augmented reality, the future of artificial intelligence in retail, innovations in offline data capture and retail formats of the future.
And its speaker line up is impressive.
This year’s conference will feature over 125+ CEOs including Julia Wainwright, Christina d’Avignon and Tracy DiNuzio, the CEOs of The RealReal, Ringly and Tradesy respectively.
Courtney Reagan, CNBC’s Retail Reporter, will also be broadcasting live to kick-off the Shoptalk event.
There will also be a panel of 14 to 16-year-olds, who represent Generation Z, giving their opinions on commerce, and a startup pitch contest with a cash prize of $50,000.
The social events that coincide with the main conference are a welcoming reception on Sunday May 15, a Monday poolside reception and a Tuesday night industry event with Wyclef Jean.
“We’re thrilled with the incredibly strong interest in Shoptalk among executives from the retail, e-commerce and broader commerce ecosystem, and we’re especially proud that we do not have any pay-to-play speakers on our agenda,” Anil D. Aggarwal, founder and chairman of Shoptalk, said.
As an added bonus, interested attendees can request an invitation to Shoptalk’s private launch of Re/Code’s new “Code/Commerce” speaker series.
On the evening of May 17, Re/code’s Kara Swisher and Jason Del Rey will interview Zappos CEO, Tony Hsieh, and Wainwright. This will represent the first of three installments of the Code/Commerce Series, which will interview people at the intersection of technology and commerce.
