New York Fashion Week: Boy Meets Girl® Merges Free-Spirited Inspiration, Ecommerce, and Fun Fashion into One Show-Stopping Live-Streaming Event

Designer Stacy Igel Prepares with Lockerz for Her Biggest Show Yet

New York Fashion Week is right around the corner and Stacy Igel, founder of Boy Meets Girl®, is preparing for her biggest show yet in conjunction with partner, Lockerz. The two companies   have become the perfect match (http://www.fashinvest.com/fashinvest-exclusive-how-designer-stacy-igel-has-utilized-the-growth-of-ecommerce/) in fashion and ecommerce over the past year and together have big plans for what is the first of its kind – a Buy Now, Wear Now, event. On Wednesday, September 12, Igel and Lockerz are presenting “Forever Young,” their Fall 2012 Fashion Week Show with amazing performances, live-streaming features  and the ability to purchase the looks right off the runway on Lockerz.com. In Igel’s words, “New York Fashion Week will be surprised by the ecommerce component of Lockerz and Boy Meets Girl’s® team up this year.”

The show’s theme and event title, “Forever Young” is inspired by the relationship between Joan Baez and Bob Dylan in the early 1960s. Igel describes the collection as “free-spirited, bohemian, carefree style, with a mix of effortless chic.”She has been able to incorporate her inspiration and adoration for their early relationship into every realm of the show. “Their love story and who they are translates through the makeup, color palette, hairstyles, lookbook, and accessories.” The show will feature a performance by Wyclef Jean, who is also producing all of the music for the show. He will appear on stage with two new artists, Cris Cab, and Jarina De Marco from AllHandzOnDeck©, whom Igel says “bring her inspiration to real life.” The New York Fashion Week Show was first publicly announced in the September 2012 issue of ELLE Magazine.

Utilizing her savvy social media tactics, Igel has also personally cast sixteen models to walk the runway, chosen from ExploreModeling.com, via an online model casting contest site. .

Lockerz, the strongly emerging social ecommerce site, is known for being the exclusive online retailer of Boy Meets Girl®. Igel is also now the Chief Fashion Editor and head of the Lockerz Style Council. At “Forever Young,” Igel along with the rest of the Lockerz Style Council, Style Haulers, and Celebrity Tastemakers are planned to be in attendance. In conjunction with the company’s partner, the looks that are worn down the runway will be available for purchase as soon as the models take to the catwalk, literally. Lockerz will be streaming the show here put link for both their registered and not registered members to watch the show live and purchase the items they see, when signed in. Igel explained that the items will be available as long as they are in stock, and that some items are more limited than others. Fashion Photographer Sophie Elgort will also be capturing the show along with the street-style of attendees here .

“Forever Young” will forever affect both Boy Meets Girl ® and Lockerz.  Igel commented that “with Lockerz its fashion, music, beauty, and lifestyle… it’s the sibling to my brand.” Together the two emerging names are peeking out of the woodwork to create one show. Igel concluded that the show will “bring both of us [Boy Meets Girl ® and Lockerz] to another platform. For Lockerz, it’s about getting involved with fashion and incorporating their commerce initiatives.“ She continued, “I believe Lockerz will be considered a commerce company to watch. When it comes to my brand, turning Boy Meets Girl ® into a Buy Now, Wear Now concept is where I believe the brand was always meant to be.”

FashInvest will be covering the emerging ecommerce show on September 12, stay tuned!!
