The RealReal, a luxury consignment company, announces the opening of their first retail and consignment space located at 80 Wooster Street in SoHo, New York. The store is open from Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The 6,000 sq. ft. space contains a concept store highlighting The RealReal’s knowledge and expertise in luxury consignment, in addition to selling unique luxury items daily, such as men’s and women’s fashion, jewelry, home furnishings, and art. Specialists for The RealReal include horologists, gemologists, and authentication specialists.
The SoHo space has been designed to include unique elements, including a 35-foot wall that contains hidden closets with women’s ready-to-wear clothing, shoes and handbags, in addition to a floor-to-ceiling wall of Hermès Birkin bags. The lower level of the consignment space showcases menswear, a lounge area, library, and a wall updated daily with rare sneakers. In the spring and summer, the outdoor space will be open for seating for customers of the café located in the store, as well as for special events.
Free expert workshops are held twice each day by The RealReal’s authentication specialists team. These workshops provide visitors with expert information and content on authentication, design, current trends, and styling. All specialists are available on-site each day to offer knowledge about authenticity of specific items, complexities of fine watchmaking, and the value of heritage brands. A Luxury Consignment Office is also available on-site for free appointments to have watches, handbags, and fine jewelry valued, or to drop items off for consignment. The location also provides professional services for item repairs, alterations, and authentication.
“After much success from The RealReal’s pop-up shop in New York last holiday season, we’re ready to expand our e-commerce business to a permanent brick-and-mortar space as another touchpoint for our customers and consignors,” sJulie Wainwright, The RealReal CEO and Founder, said. “We not only created a concept store that represents The RealReal with the best product, but we created a next-level customer experience for buyers and consignors that leverages the speed of e-commerce with the brand experience of brick-and-mortar.”
